SLS Nylon 3D Printing — AdditiveM Labs

Properties

  • Laser-sintered nylon powder (PA12)
  • No dedicated support structures
  • Excellent mechanical durability
  • Slightly grainy matte surface
  • Great for interlocking and living hinges (with care)

Best applications

  • End-use brackets and clips
  • Ducting and complex internal channels
  • Robotics and drone components
  • Low-volume production nylon parts
  • Assemblies with nested geometries

Cost

Premium vs FDM; competitive when complexity would otherwise need supports or multi-part assemblies. Get an FDM instant quote today while SLS comes online.

Design guidelines

  • Minimum wall ~0.8–1.0 mm
  • Powder escape holes for hollow parts
  • Gap ~0.3–0.5 mm for moving assemblies
  • Avoid ultra-thin tall walls that can warp
  • Uniform wall thickness improves consistency
